The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI.

Modern Valentine's Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.^{[4]  (Thanks to Wikipedia for the brief history).}  

We checked the OHBC Media files to see what materials about romance were available, and not surprisingly, there is a wealth of study guides, CD's, Christian romance fiction, kids resources, and more - below is a sampling of what is waiting for you listed in order of category.  There are too many to list in entirety, so we've provided an abbreviated listing of what is available by author.        

Finally,  while we're thinking on love and what it means to us, take time to ponder on He who loves us beyond all else, regardless of the time of year, and didn't hesitate to show it on a lonely hilltop.      John 3:16 describes that love so clearly -- take a moment now to thank Him for that love.
