Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.

Repeat them in our day; in our time make them known. Habakkuk 3:2 (NIV)

During the month of May, we are calling the church to pray this prayer together, using each day's pray as a guide.

We pray for the body of Orange Hill …

5/1:     that we would seek to be humble, repentant, thankful and faithful people.

5/2:     that we would have gospel unity amid diversity - loving and serving, even with those with whom we have  nothing in common but the gospel.

5/3:     that we would have a culture of discipling, in which making disciples is valued as a healthy part of daily life at Orange Hill.

5/4:     that we would seek out opportunities to serve in the church, based on our gifts and passions - with the understanding that we are here to serve and not just to be served.

5/5:     that we would commit to taking an active role in serving, discipling and loving our next generation - Orange Hill’s children and teenagers.

5/6:     that we would have a hunger for studying the Word of God, and that it will equip us in guiding, guarding, caring for and loving one another.

5/7:     that the singing of the church’s songs would come from an overflowing of our hearts with praise and thanksgiving, as we join our voices together as one to lift up the name of Jesus.

5/8:     that the church’s prayers would be infused with biblical concepts, honesty, and humility as we are led by the Spirit in our corporate and individual prayers.

5/9:     that our giving of our tithes and offerings would be faithful; as well as joyful, consistent, and   sacrificial.

5/10:    that we would seek out transparent and meaningful relationships with one another -  desiring to walk with each other through the different stages and circumstances of life.

5/11:    that we would have an expectant faith in all the areas of our life together - looking for God to do the things that are bigger than we can even imagine.

5/12:    that we would continually grow in our love and faithful dedication to Christ and to one another.

We pray for the leadership of Orange Hill …

5/13:    that the preaching and teaching of God’s Word would be biblically sound, complete with the whole gospel and led by the power of the Holy Spirit.

5/14:    that the elders, pastors and leaders would remain above reproach; kept from temptation, complacency, depression, idols and worldliness.

5/15:    that our elders and teachers would faithfully use scripture and other gospel based materials to train the body in the work of ministry.

5/16:    that our leaders would lead out of a love and compassion for the body of Christ, as they join in the work of the church, leading by example.

5/17:    that the church’s leaders and teachers would lead the church in dedication to God and the study of His Word - in public ministry and private life.

5/18:    that our elders and pastors would seek to provide wise and biblical council as they minister to the members of the body of Christ and the community.

5/19:    that our leaders would find their inspiration and approval from above and not from people.

5/20:    that God would call new leaders to serve and minister to the body.

We pray for the community outreach of Orange Hill …

5/21:    that God would call people to join our fellowship through repentance and salvation, to walk the waters of baptism and join us in ministry and service.

5/22:    that we would share the gospel this week with our friends, family, neighbors and co-workers - as we make ourselves available for God to use in His mighty work of salvation wherever we find ourselves.

5/23:    that we would grow in being distinct from the world in our love and holiness, even as we engage with those outside of the walls of the church.

5/24:    that our community would see us as a place of hope and be thankful and blessed that we are a part of the neighborhood.

5/25:    that we would see others the way that God sees them - made in His image and deserving of dignity; not allowing the things that the world uses to divide people stop us from showing them the compassion and love that God calls us to.

5/26:    that we would use our careers, neighborhoods and other opportunities to take the gospel to places it’s never been.

5/27:    that we would join with other ministries and organizations as we seek opportunities to serve others in our community and around the world.

5/28:    that we would faithfully pray for our president and leaders in government, while always remembering that our ultimate hope and security is found in the heavenly Kingdom.

5/29:    that we would remember to pray for our missionaries and other servants of the gospel around the world as they face persecution and hardship for the name of Christ.

5/30:    that we would be prepared to meet our own persecution - remembering to love, not curse, our persecutors.

5/31:    that we would be good and do good in the name of the Lord in our homes, workplaces and communities this week.
